MAJOR is an old English textile company and hat specialist - where the idea of reviving the proud hat production that once characterised the area was born when Scottish, Dutch and English businessmen and skilled craftsmen came to characterise manufacturing and production in this part of the city over a century ago.

It's no longer possible to produce hats in central London since a few centuries ago, but we can still be and are inspired, fascinated and enchanted by the design and innovation of the diverse crafts that characterised the area back then. And take it with us when we visit our friends 200 years later who are producers of genuine Panama hats in the far west - in South America, Ecuador - or to the boundlessly artistic Japan in the Far East. We want EVERYONE - like MAJOR in the 1800s and 1900s - to be able to wear modern, unique, innovative hats at a great price. Created in the same premises as when people from different parts of Europe came together in Gothenburg a few hundred years ago.
